Toys

What is this interface used for?

The Toy interface is used to assess the human and ecotoxicological impacts of chemicals in toys and other children’s products. There are 26 default products currently, including dolls made of different materials (hard plastic, soft plastic, stuffed, wood, textile, squishy), pacifier, etc. The human exposure pathways mainly include inhalation, dermal contact, dust ingestion and direct ingestion (mouthing) by the product user, primarily a child. For the ecosystem, exposure occurs mainly through products that are disposed to landfill after product lifetime, whose chemical components volatilize to air and leach into the freshwater.
